The problem with having all your possession on shelves is the height for when you accidentally drop them.

Just bashed myself in the face with a D&D DMG. Thankfully I still some grip on it so I didn't drop it entirely, but the book landed smack on the bridge of my glasses for extra pain transference.

Ow.

I am more than familiar with the situation :) Just be glad you didn't give yourself a paper cut on the nose, and then spend the rest of the week feeling stupid as you have to explain to everyone who asks how it got there.

Am I reading an LJ entry wherein the entirety of BLADEs take it in turns to explain how often they bash their own heads in? Should I infer something from this? ;-)
