So these past fortnight I've been working in Bath, and there's an interesting correlation between my time spent at home and the amount of LJ entries I write it seems.

Effectively myself and one colleague out of the seven of us, have been getting to work remotely from the Bath offices. Largely because the customer wants to save some of the £75 a day it costs them in expenses for each of us to be working out there. Myself and my colleague are lucky in that unlike the rest of the team that are pretty much pair programming (or doing project management) we're both working on isolated self contained things. We'll have the odd day in Basingstoke (like Monday and Tuesday of next week), but hopefully most of the time will be spent in Bath. The customer continue to be extremely happy with our work, but still haven't signed any sort of fixed term contract. I'm guessing they just want to keep us on an on going rolling daily contracts until we stop making them more money than we cost.

Being home has mostly resulted in my gaming more, though the weekend before last was at Kitacon near the Birmingham NEC. It wasn't as good as last year, and so it looks unlikely we'll be going back. Having said that the American guests they had over were utterly lovely, and very interesting to talk to.

Come Thursday I'll have a new lodger in the form of cosplayer [livejournal.com profile] neomogrox. It'll be interesting to see how that works out. Still can't argue with some extra income.

Other than the above feeling very tired at the moment, while I've had a lot of four day weeks, they've all been because of nearly back conventions, so I'm looking forward to a long break taking advantage of all the bank holidays. Especially as it'll be nice to end it playing D&D with my older group of friends.

With [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23 away this weekend celebrating friends bithdays, I spent most of the day at my parents. I've got the first boards varnished which means I have finally started the process of getting my loft sorted so we start storing things up there. This will be good, as we've effectively lost the small bedroom to stuff. I also helped out a little with their still on going building work. There's a lot of jobs to get done on the house on my week off I feel. Hopefully I'll make decent progress.
