That went very well. The improved format worked well, and did everything I wanted it too. No one team benefitted from a team not able to answer questions, everyone always had a reason to pay attention and therefore quieten down whenever I had a question to ask, people always had a chance to answer a question on a topic they didn't know, teams had a reason to bribe me with sugar, people liked the prizes* and everyone enjoyed themselves. The only minor niggle is that they're should have only been the first two AMV's to keep the different rounds at around the same points value.

All in all not including the questions we reused from last year. Jon and I probably wrote (or found online) about 120 questions, not bad for four hours work.

Luckily we only had four teams, which meant that we could ask each team more questions in the final round. This had the upshot of meaning that which team had won wasn't a completely forgone conclusion before the last round (and it was a lot closer in the end than I expected).

Next years committee are planning to keep the quiz format I designed. I think that, and the smiling faces at the end, is the best result I could have had.

I'm still suprised how completely unnervous I was when I was standing and speaking infront of a group of 24+ people who were listening and paying attention to me. It's nice that I can.

*Though the booby prizes of wooden spoons seemed to be the most popular.

I wsa great fun. I was extremely impressed at the amount of work that had gone into it. Though I still feel like I cheated a bit by joining a team over halfway through and running away with one of the prizes.
