Mini Rant

There are road works at the top of my hill, well Brassknocker Hill, it will be closed till about the end of April. This isn't too much of a problem really.

What worries me is what they are doing. They're replacing the T-junction with a mini round about. I don't entirely see how this is going to work. Currently the top of the hill, has a significant slope around it, and to see well enough to pull out safely (coming from the hill) you had to drive up fairly close to the dotted lines. The road at the top of the hill is a fairly busy 40mph main road. I assume they're going to have to change the level of the top of the hill, but I can't see how the mini roundabout can be anything than on a slope.

I fear they're will be accidents, I hope they won't be serious. Admittingly I have seen a few accidents at the top of the hill before, but no more than most T-junctions I would have thought. Well we'll wait and see, but, and this is taking in the current record with road 'improvements' in Bath, I fear it's going to be a dangerous place to drive around when they're finished.

When if ever, will they stop messing? Sounds like it could be a disaster.

Your government pounds at work. If they don't spend the money on something, they don't get it in next year's budget. Hence the spending money on stupid things like mini roundabouts where a T junction is perfectly sound.

Government. Blah.
