The episode opens with the four of us travelling in our new cruiser towards a planet attacked by the rebels. We have been sent to witness the destructive powers and actions of the rebels to undo any 'damage' that might have been done to us during our time with them.
We land in a park near a town, there is rubble everywhere. The four of us get out, though Hitomi climbs into her mecha first, and start to explore. We head towards to town passing small craters, lumps of concrete and similar signs of fighting. As we get into the first few streets we find them pretty much clear of rubble, though there are signs the rubble has been dragged out of the way. All the buildings which are fairly intact have their doors and windows boarded up, and there is no sign of life.
That is of course until we remember to check Rio's scanner, which clearly shows lots of people with in the buildings. At this point Sergeant Hyashi spots a small child, and as it runs off in fear follows it down an alleyway. The rest of us hear an explosion. Hyashi had made a grab for the child and ended up grabbing Millions Knives (Trigun) instead. Gin Peng wanders into the alley way sees Knives, nearly blinds himself sensing Knives' chi and turns around and walks calming away and start to head towards more damaged areas of the town.
Rio and Hitomi enter the alleyway to see Hyashi talking to Knives, it's worth pointing out that Hitomi had to enter sidling sideways down the alley due to the size of her Gymaleth like mecha. Knives questions Hyashi what's she's doing here, and doesn't believe she's simply on a survey mission as, well, there's a large mecha stand behind her armed with a giant katana and sniper rifle.
With the kind of smile spiders would probably give flies on their web, if they could smile of course, Knives tells the three of the group to leave, and then draws a gun, his black gun, on them. At this point Hyashi and Rio try to leave only to find that they can't past the foot of the mecha, and after much, much gesturing, and then shouting down a communicator at her to get her to sidle back out of the alley.
Threatening them, and grinning with that slightly mad grin he has, he starts saying how as they are military personnel, he's sure he could get away with killing them. That Vash wouldn't mind too much, it was going to be a problem. At this point Hyashi threatens him back, causing Hitomi who recognises him to leave quickly and Rio, never one to stay near a fight, to back off too.
Realising how he has been abandoned, Hyashi is saved by the sudden appearance of Vash the Stampede (Trigun) who asks his brother what's going on. Seeing Vash from his viewpoint a top the remains of a ruined sky scraper, Gin Peng hurries back across the fairly large distance to Hyashi.
