So updating last weekend progress on the house wasn't particularly fast. The wallpaper in the upstairs back main bedroom has been exceedingly stubborn in coming off. Room is all, but there except for a few higher patches. Still the lack of progress had to do with neither [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23 or I feeling particularly good.

We also had the house visited by a plumber and an electrician last week so we begin to formalise plans, get some new ideas and get some quotes of how much it is going to cost. The wiring will need to be redone so we're looking at ~£4500 for the central heating and plumbing, and another £1500-2000ish I think for the wiring. Though we are taking the opportunity to get more plugs added, as well as more useful TV points and some networking cabling put into useful places at the same time.

The plumber also had an interesting suggestion which we've decided to go with. The plan for the few of you who've seen the place, is to covert the pantry in to a down stairs loo, moving the door from the kitchen into the hallway. This had the advantages of moving the loo inside the main part of the house, and to a location in line with all the existing waste pipes, and giving us more wall space for worktops and cupboards in the kitchen (for when we can afford to do it). Our idea then is to knock out the dividing wall in the external bit, put in a second skin to the wall (Which is needs really) and properly insulate it, then redivide that space into effectively a small back door entrance area, a utility and another pantry. Yeah, we'd like the idea of a pantry far too much to let it go entirely.

The handles in the title refers to my car read door handle, which I accidentally half pulled off from my car on Friday when I was attempting to open it. I don't know my own strength, that or more likely it had been weakened by time. Still that added another expense to the car repairs that I had done last week. Head gasket going needed to be replaced (because it kept helpfully pushing into what should be the entirely liquid filled coolant pipes), and the heater had lost it's two lowest settings. The heater thing has been around for a while, the head gasket went with wonderful timing just before I spent all my money buying the house. So it's been a necessary, but poorly timed several hundred pounds of car repair. Car now though is all sorted, though I am extremely grateful to my Mum for helping ferry me to and from work Wednesday to Friday last week.

Headaches refers to well this headache I've had since last Monday, so this makes it er day 10 I think. Going to see a doctor about it end of the week. Don't have great hopes though because I reckon it's a viral one (based on how painkillers haven't made any difference to it at all). Still we can but try. I did take two days off work when it was started, but more because I was feeling generally run down around the headaches, so I've been working hard in spite of it the rest of the time. Still it would be nice to have stop affecting my ability to concentrate and my energy levels. And stop hurting, that would be best of all.

Oh yeah and other reason I feel unconvinced by doctor? This annoying sinus irritating I've apparently had since a illness last October (I only realised how long it was since I went to see a doctor about it at the time), is apparently a purely allergic one. Considering how it's been different to how hay fever feels and is consistent regardless of time and place I'm sceptical. Still I'm trying a anti allergy nasal spray, and will apparently know in a little under a month if that was the problem... because that's how long the spray will need to make a difference. The thing I want answered though:

Why does the anti-hay fever spray smell of flowers?!
