This weekend, I felt like I've been on the edge of drifting off to sleep, nearly the entire time. Just unendingly tired, and not much better even for sleeping in a lot. In spite of this I have actually managed to do something for once, unsurprisingly mostly involving [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23.

Yesterday, after a late rising to discover my brother and his girlfriend were visiting unexpectedly as I wandered around the house half asleep at about 12:30, was then spent doing a variety of stuff. So first there was a meeting in town where I proceeded to introduce the Rachel my brother is dating, to the Rachael I am dating, and introducing, Rachael's sister Jennie to my brother and Rachel, before definitely lastly pointing out my brother :P. From there we wandered around town, well mostly vicky park, and chatted about things, including variously comparing some of us to other members of us. [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23 and her younger sister then followed me up to Ailsa's where there was the watching of anime, before they headed back as I proceeded to sew the darkness. From there came dinner, long family chats, followed by Spirited Away. Long family chats seem to confirm my brother has taken losing job the positive way, and is determined to go and do what he wants to do. He also seems to be actually listening to my Dad's advice which is positive.

I also got a satisfying victory, waiting patiently as my Dad hammered home the importance of my brother communicating when things are wrong, to remind my parents that they could also do better in letting me and my siblings know when they had bad news too.

Today, came with more sleep, and the lack of energy needed to even wander up to a larp and take photos. So instead I went to see Sweeney Todd, with [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23 and her younger sister, which is a good if not spectacular film. Very gory, and I currently do not fancy pie. Oddly enough for a musical with very little non-singing there weren't as many songs as you would think, more repeated use of each characters well almost theme song really. If you're a fan of Tim Burton and do not mind blood, I recommend you see it, but it's not one that really needs the cinema experience, as long as you have good sound quality on your preferred viewing medium.

Other than that the last week passed mostly uneventfully as well as I can remember. The highlights since my last post being:
- Winning another Wednesday Night Magic draft pod, making it now a four pod winning streak. So I'm enjoying my current victories.
- Unretiring Blaine properly for the first time last Sunday. Which was fascinating, it really brought home how big an affect the rule changes (primarily w.r.t. armour and life) have made. I've also decided that stacking layers of leather armour feels patently unfair, and while I'm happy to make use of the rules, I won't be able to shake the feeling that I somehow must be cheating.
-The second session of [livejournal.com profile] almosthonest's D&D game. It's being fascinating seeing how a game free of [livejournal.com profile] hotpork's influence turns out. What worries me is my Ranger who wants to be like his ([livejournal.com profile] ailsa_chan's) Paladin friend, but just gets it wrong, might end up fulfilling the typical [livejournal.com profile] hotpork role.
-And lastly, but not least(ly), a month of being with [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23 having passed in a very pleasant fashion.

Also, I seem to be earning bonus points by existing, which I suspect is the best reception I could have got for meeting one of [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23's family for the first time.
