Catching up
Dec. 13th, 2007 02:04 pmRight, so yes stuff to post about.
Today and yesterday off work unwell, have been fighting a war of attrition with some sort of illness (flu like possibly). Either way my energy levels seemed to have been the worst casualty, and with slowly worsening symptoms, I thought some time off to well sleep and beat it would work. It seems to. I've certainly accelerated it to the coughing stage of the patterns that all my colds /flues go through so it seems to have worked.
Last weekend, was up to Nottingham when I didn't have to drive to celebrate a slightly belated 25th birthday of a friend of mine. Got to see his flat which is a lot nicer that I thought it would be, considering it's an ex council flat, and once he's finished renovating it should be very nice indeed. Most of the time was spent doing the old traditional thing of playing mostly card based games, and the seemingly new tradition of sharing random videos on youtube. Yes that does mean I've shared a certain PowerThirst thing to more people, oh and there was a certain collective appreciation of a hexblade too. Still the Count Count BLEEP thing easily raised the most laughter.
Oh and what else. I actually won a Wednesday Night Magic Draft for the first time a couple of weeks ago now, with quite possibly the most broken pile of cards I could reasonably have opened and had passed to me. Which felt really cool. It's nice to know I'm reasonably good at the game, considering how long I've been playing it.
This Saturday off to spend the day with another friend to celebrate his 25th, and in doing so nicely avoid the work christmas party too. Not sure what will be happening, but whatever it is it will be fun.
Other than that life is being very good to me at the moment it seems. As well as somewhat heavy handed with the clues, still I'm paying attention and will make sure I'm in the best possible situation to take advantage of whatever comes my way.
