Work Related Mysteries

So finished my last project on Friday, have been on it for 18 months I think. Hadn't heard what was coming next by the end of Friday, Monday I had off, came back on Tuesday to still no word, so started some of the training I'm meant to have done except for being on paying projects these last 20 months. Today still no word so I prodded my operations manager, via email.

The response in summary: He investigated and I am apparently about to be put on another project, but not one of his, so it's not his place to tell me what it is, though if I still haven't heard anything in a couple of days, to prod him about it again.

Ah the magical mysteries of the company I work for...
