Lazy Sunday
Jun. 4th, 2007 11:03 amYesterday I had a lazy day, in which I tried to post this entry, but LJ wouldn't let me. Ah well. Spent the Saturday at
ailsa_chan and her bloke's* house warming for their House of Lovely. It was a very good day, with much time spent with friends, some of which I haven't seen for far too long. The fact the good company had access to a Wii (proving to more people how scarily recognisable my Mii is), meant there was much opportunity for hilarity and fun, with magical cooking and an impressive display of boxing from
elmyra. It did mean I ended up getting to bed at 3:30am, so was just too tired to do the whole getting up and going larping thing. Being aware it was likely to be a long game I think was pretty much the deciding factor, mostly because while I'd have probably managed the larp fine, this week would be much of a write off. To be honest I have too much I need to get done and no time this coming weekend, so I really couldn't afford to be extra tired this week.
The more I think about it the more I'm determined to try and by a house come October and the yearly wage increase. I'm not sure what I can afford if anything, but I'd be quite happy to buy somewhere that needs work, even a lot of work, and dedicate a significant portion of my time to it, if it meant I could buy somewhere. Thankfully the utter amazingness of my parents, means that I would be more than welcome to stay at theirs till I get things sorted.
Still not sure what I want from house exactly, but would like to be in Bath and conceivable able to walk to work and to visit friends. It also nice to be able to go out, or just visit friends, and not be driving. For various reasons really, but it would be nice to be able to have the odd drink or two. I'm never going to drink much, it doesn't appeal and to be honest I probably be under the driving limit anyway. It would just be nice to have the option. Still it just means I'll continue to slowly grow my collection of various alcohols until I hold a house warming of my own I expect.
*Continuing
almosthonest's efforts.
