Day of Balance
Jan. 21st, 2007 03:14 pmYesterday was an odd day, though a balanced day at least.
I went to a M:tG tournament up in Nailsworth came second, won my self some packs, some random metal deck box with artwork on and a T-shirt. Woo!
However on the way up I got a flat tire, and broke a socket from my socket wrench trying to change it. Change it I did having deciding there was no more possible harm in continuing to try considering how long the RAC were potentially going to be.
Then there were the cards themselves, the cards I pulled from the packs for the tournament were good ones (hence me coming second), and the cards I pulled from the prize packs were not. Now I play casually when I get the chance more than anything else so I will try and make use of all of them at some point, but given the choice between something obviously good and something obviously not I know which one I would go for.
Lastly, on the NW online game I play (must get that review finished to make more of you play) I was part of the team that beat the great Dragon. That also meant I was part of the team that broke a game, as the kind of bugs that can only occur with threading, concurrency and a hundred users doing basically the same thing at the same time all get together and have a party. All is fixed now, but it just adds to the balance of the day.
Today I have gone with the lazy option having decided this morning that all I really wanted to do was catch up on sleep. I suspect I'll have missed a good larp, or another fun M:tG tournament (I could have gone to another prerelease today), but if I get somethings I want to get done done then it will all be worth it. The fact I'll be starting doing them now means I might not get a great deal done, but meh at least I'll have made a start.
