Well the first DVD. Imported from America/Canada, one of them anyway, via dvdboxoffice.com, suggested by friends who import a lot of anime from America, I can recommend it. The site offers free shipping anywhere in the world, and it arrived in 7 days from it being sent (and they said it would take 7 - 21 days to arrive). Anyway enough free advertising. I have Zim and I am happy, and the cast commentary explains so much.

Let's see tomorrow I get to larp, and play Aurinyan though the down powered version. At least I can play test things and see how it works, the hardest thing was dropping aura 8. Oh well only 16 points till I can get it back again (then 6 more for lvl 7 talisman again, on and then I can buy aura 9 for 18 points, which will mean another level of talisman). But yes it should be good, especially as I think this is the first game written by [livejournal.com profile] drabbit I'll have played, though please correct me if I'm wrong.

On a gaming front I heard about a game called The Bard's Tale, described as a very tongue in cheek spoof of all the baldur's gate, D&D style RPG's you've played. So far I know the first mission is exterminating rats in a basement, it makes light of random monsters droppings lots of treasure they shouldn't be carrying, that you can indulge in cow tipping (one for [livejournal.com profile] hotpork), and meet with an angry barrel maker annoyed that you keep destroying his work. Some research shows its a modern update to a series of (or a single) 80's game, being produced by one of the creators of the original. The game is narrated by the voice of LoK's elder god, who also yawns and provides amusing comments (of the wry variety) throughout the course of game play. A good idea it includes is that all non weapon/armour treasure gets automatically converted to gold, to save you hassle of selling each gem, etc individually. It's also fairly pretty using the everquest/dark alliance engine. Should be out on PS2 and Xbox this year and sounds like one to buy when it does, assuming it lives up to it's potential.
