I helped P go house hunting for next year yesterday. All seemed pretty good. They found a nice house which had only started being rented this year, the land lady is accredited, the rent is pretty reasonable and its not too far out, about 2 minutes from the House of Larp, further along the Lower Bristol Road. They had managed to call the land lady to express their interest, who then turned down another group who wanted the house as P’s group had organised the visit first. By the sound of it if they called five minutes later they would have lost out. So apart from just the finalising things, and letting a couple of people look at a couple of factors, it looked pretty sorted.

Now I’ve found that one of the group who had gone to talk to agencies today anyway, now wants to wait till June to try and get a house because it’ll be easier to see what’s left. A week after the lists came out most of the places are gone, and he wants to wait till June to see what’s left. I’m so annoyed partly because P's really stressed over this whole thing as she has difficulty dealing with not knowing where she’d going to live, partly because it’s an act of gross stupidity on that other group members part, and partly because its one of the nicest kept houses I’ve seen, certainly the nicest in oldfield park. I hate being angry; it makes me so angry. I want to hit him lots.

Ahem. Any advice would be appreciated.

On a happier note, BESM was good fun last night. I’m beginning to get the hang of this whole if it looks good and you can describe it well chances are it’ll work. Though this whole shock business is annoying at times. Notes of interest from that session. Well we’re currently about to enter the fantasy part of the universe, having just crossed a tunnel from the normal part. We bumped into Ryoko after Ryoki was downed by our side, she was a little pissed to say the least and all three gems from the sword hilt. The rest of the Tenchi gang are lying mortally wounded (well as Joe put it their breathing shallowly generally bleeding with broken or missing limbs) in a cave , hence Ryoko’s current state of mind. She blew a couple of us up, by clever use of energy I managed to stay standing. Tim faired not so well. WE decided to not interfere when the crew of the outlaw star turned up.

On a totally unrelated note a conversation P had yesterday at the PO on campus, I thought it sufficiently amusing, in a vague kinda way, to put up here. Spot the person who’s had some difficult customers that day:

P: I'd like a stamp for Europe please.
post lady: For what?
P: For Europe.
post lady: For what?
P: For Germany.
post lady: No, for what?! (getting angry)
P: Um...just a normal stamp for Europe?
post lady: What is normal?!!!
P: Just the basic stamp.
post lady: What, a letter, a package? (shaking her head angrily)
P: Just a normal letter.
post lady: What is normal? [Goes off on rant about how normal is
different for everyone, lasts at least 20 seconds]
P: Just an everyday letter please.
post lady: What, 75 grams, 100g?
P: Just the lightest weight.
post lady: What weight!!!
P: The basic weight of a letter [trying to avoid using word 'normal']
post lady: [ranting] 38p
P: Thanks.
post lady: [ranting]
P: [fake smile]
