So updating it's been a while.
So generally things are busy with overtime at work (paid thankfully, and also not as much as
dantarian has had to do), with the time at home spent recovering/making costume. Having a string of colds throughout November certainly hasn't helped matters, currently things are mostly ok with random bouts of sniffliness.
Went to the Grand Cosplay Ball this Sunday just gone, and then didn't go. A new cold (revenge of the old cold) reared it's head Saturday evening, and so I travelled up to London hoping it would be fine. Of course several hours in the cold did for me, so I spent the evening reading in bed, after realising that if I was still shivering in cold while fully dressed in bed, I needed to take the time to feel better. Plus headaches plus loud music seemed an unwise combination. Ah well I got to see a couple of people briefly and keep Rachael company while we navigated the tubes (our family traditions combining to making us lost and late at one point).
Currently doing the final dry run of FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) at work. Fundamentally it's dull. Very very dull, whether it's proving that all the hundreds of fields have context sensitive help, or cycling through the same three screens as 15+ users to prove they each see the correct things. The meeting room, come test lab, isn't making this any more pleasant one of the monitors is the basically the big screen used for the meeting room mounted on the wall meaning I spend most of my day looking slightly upwards. I can already feel the neck strain... and I have three more weeks of it to look forward to.
Work being busy being the other reason why I really needed to try and get better on Sunday night.
Other than that, actually larping, but not getting to see people enough due to the aforementioned business/tiredness, life has been expensive. My glasses broke about a fortnight ago now, necessitating a new pair. And the end of last week my graphics card developed a fault (look like a significant part of the memory on the card has died, so I'll be shopping for a new one once I've finished writing this). Managed to find a graphic card memory checking utility on line and borrow one from someone at work so I'm confident I've confirmed the source of the problem.
It's nice to actually get to use my computer again, especially as I recently purchased the horribly addictive Recettear in the Steam sales.
