Advice wanted.

Having taken a work colleagues recommendation and having had CAT 5 run into most of the rooms in the house while we were getting the wiring done, I will now be looking for a switch to make things all work nicely. Not had to buy one before, so don't know anything about them. Anyone have any suggestions?

Netgear are solid enough as far as brands go. I'm assuming that the actual quality of cable that you had put in was CAT 6, so it's worthwhile making sure that the switch you buy is of gigabit speed.
