same_differenceSo I got the phone call at 10:45 today from the estate agents saying the key has been released, or however it is exactly they word it. This means that it, with the exception of collecting the physical key that's the house buying process completed.
I've taken the afternoon off work so I can look at the house I own and try and wrap my head around the fact that I now own it. I have had lots of good suggestions, and some joking ones, but I think there's going to be just a certain amount of wandering around and trying to make it seem real. Then of course I can start thinking about what needs to be done in more detail.
My main plan for this afternoon is to phone up the various utilities to inform them I own the place, try and sort out the council tax exemption and contact British Gas about getting the property connected up. It's going to take a fair bit of time on the phone; still I doubt it'll dampen my excitement any.
House warmings will be held off until I'm actually moving in, the aim is to have it all nicely done by the summer which is un-coincidently when the council tax exemption I should get would run out. Of course if people want to come and see what it looks like now and where it is you are more than welcome.
