Today I'm having a especially forgetful day. This is annoying. So far I know I forgot to bring my mug in to work so that I can drink tea, get some money on my girovend so I can buy snacks to make up for my lack of breakfast, and bring in my notepad with my all my helpful work related notes on. In fact, this is really, really annoying.

On another note I should warn all those that read this that I will be using this LJ to continue my experiments on you. Well the experiments and little games I play really. I should clarify not 'The Game' whatever that is. I've successfully avoiding it for two years and intend to continue to do so, though it does produce some interesting reactions in people...

Anyway, to give an example of the kind of things I do, see my last entry and the sentence that Kipperfish picked up on.

Now I promise this is all being done for your benefit (and my curiosity/amusement). I use the information gathered to help you when you need it. From experience everyone reacts well to advice presented in certain ways. However, to get them really listening you need to adopt the right style of speech etc. The experiments let me work out what will and won't work. They also help me find peoples buttons :-)

Peoples buttons are great :-D. Everyone has a small number of automatic override switches which if pressed are guaranteed to illicit a set response. If you have younger siblings you'll know what I mean, they will almost certainly know which buttons to press to turn you into a vengeful screaming demon of wrath.

I do know a few peoples buttons and use them occasionally. Normally only when worst comes to worst and they're being stubborn and refusing to do whats good for them. You just press the relevant button and your sorted. They're doing what you know they need to, and you've fixed their life once again.

Of course I do get bored occasionally and start pressing buttons to see how they interact.

Recently, I've being trying to 'help' Tim. Though this really means trying to alter his world view to one which I think is better. On Friday night bringing him and Ailsa back from sci-fi I got him from believing that he was the sole breaker of Dan to considering he was a contributor to Dan's breaking and an obvious target for his venting. Since then he has decided he was the one who pushed Dan over the edge, though not the sole cause. This is a minor improvement but an improvement all the same. Ideally I'll break his belief in his ability to break people, remove the pride he shows in having done it and eventually turn him into someone who is more aware of the consequences of his actions. Or I might just get bored and him with sticks till he changes.

Wow, this is a long entry. Can you tell I'm avoiding writing a sorting algorithm at the moment.

1.) *rampages at The Game*

2.) Unless it's a very specific application you really should not have to write sorting algorithms - it's a solved problem for the vast majority of cases. I had this discussion with Martin yesterday.

3.) Yay for poking Tim with sticks. He's a nice guy a lot of the time but sometimes just doesn't think. I feel that some prodding may well make him a better person. Now, if you can get him to reconsider this whole paganism thing, that's be an achievement.

4.) Mew. I failed to wake up today...

1)Sorry. But see interesting reaction produced.

2)Actually I just need to modify the quicksort algorithm but meh its annoying.

3)I can but try.

4)Awwww, have a cookie.

If you can sort Tim out before I get round to doing it, all the better I think. Your way will probably hurt a lot less :-)
