Home, well office, test kits

So I had a doctors appointment this morning to try once again to get my acid stomach problems sorted. For any who don't know I tend to suffer regularly from acid indigestion and heart burn, typically worse if I'm stressed or ill, but like recently sometimes for no reason at all. There does appear to be a definite family history of it. I've had a couple of doctors appointments in the past and have tended to treat it as it occurred as they advised, but it's never really sorted out the problem. At worse it's painful enough it'll stop me sleeping or wake me up in the middle of the night, but generally it's at a level I half treat/half ignore.
Now though I'm back in Bath I can actually have doctors appointments again without having to take a half day off on holiday. Considering I'm pretty much out of holiday, and it's been quite bad for the last month, it's a very good thing I'm back in Bath.
So I've got a month long course of proton pump inhibitors which will basically inhibit the acid production. I'm hoping this will give things a chance to heal and get it properly sorted.
I also got the H. Pilori breath test. Now last time I was tested for it, the breathe test was around and known for being highly accurate, but not used in normal cases. So I had the much less accurate blood test that came back negative. 1.5-2 years on and not only do I get the breathe test, it's a home test kit, which I complete and then send off for the results. That's quite a jump in practise really.
So I began this morning sitting in my office* breathing into test tubes and labelling them up...
Here's hoping this is the start of getting it all finally sorted.
*Another positive of working in Bath no more open plan offices.
