The 91 year old mother of my mum is in hospital with pneumonia. She'd been refusing to take food, water or the antibiotics and is currently in a ward. It's clear really she's made her choice, and so it's been instructed to not try and revive her when she goes. I look forward to knowing she will no longer be suffering, her quality of life hasn't been very good. Well that in many ways a consequence of having a bout of pneumonia misdiagnosed (as nothing at all) by a hospital time two years ago, and only being admitted after she'd blacked out (due to lack of Oxygen reaching the brain) a couple of days later.

It's between years (maybe 13) since her husband passed on, and for all I loathe smoking and the role it played in his death, her reaching the age of 91 having smoked all her life up to a few years ago is an impressive feat. Even if she hasn't had a sense of taste since before I was born, and a horrible cough too.

She's lived in London for I think her whole life, and so the distance meant I didn't see her much. Still she will be very much missed. I'll just do what I can to look after my parents with all of this. Thinking about it there is a great deal about her I simply don't know, I shall endeavour to find out, because she deserves to be remembered by me for more than being my Nan.

My main concern is looking after my parents, particularly my Mum, but thanks for the thoughtful advice.
