That was a good holiday. Relaxing, enjoyable, good company, interesting sights, not too busy, not too quiet, good food, good drink, good games and lots of shiny tech toys. The drive to Cambridge wasn't too bad, the 3.5 hours of mostly motorway didn't feel as long as I thought. I also drove on the M25 for the first time and survived! Clearly it's not as scary as people make out, except for the high speed lane changes some people did.

I got to meet the various mostly lovely people my sister spends her time with in Cambridge, wander around a museum looking at a great deal of stuff (including the Book of the Dead), and generally enjoy being somewhere with a roof.

Having tried the latest console generation now, and seen what hi-def TV is like, I am impressed. So impressed that my plan has shifted from 'save up and buy house' to 'save up and buy house, but if parental building is completed before I manage that splash out on TV and PS3 and maybe 360 too'.

In other news, my remaining granddad is unwell, and it turns out that the last 15 years of heart trouble, requiring medication that have caused him all kinds of fairly serious problems (like kidney failure) may have been misdiagnosed in the first place. He's not well, I shall have to visit, though after this recent batch of illness, we fear there may not be too long left.

Sorry to hear about your granddad. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
