Please consider this my answer to the 'Why am I on your friends list?' meme, that you may have posted/will post/will never post.
You are on my friends list because you are my friend*, or an acquaintance I would like to become friends with. Having you on my friends list allows me to know what's happening to you/what interests you even when I don't see you. Also I can be nosey at times.
