So as of early last week the work to get the attic floored was completed. I think it took about 2 weeks overall to get it done, but that did include a lot of strengthening work to the ceiling beams and other work to allow us to remove most of the awkwardly placed cross braces replacing them with less obtrusive ones. Just now my parents have brought up the last of my stuff, so once I spend today hauling it up into the attic, I'll sort a box or bag a night. It also means I should at last be able to return a few books I've borrowed.
Last Thursday evening, while in Basingstoke for a customer schmoozing pub quiz night, I found out that next week will be my last week working for the customer in Basingstoke. They've managed to hire more test staff, so we're no longer needed, but all the developers have been extended for 3 more months. So Wednesday to Friday of next week will be my last days in Basingstoke. Not sure what project I'll be put on to next, but all the word suggests that where ever it is, it won't be based in Bath.
