My thoughts:

1)Lib Dem voting went up especially among the swingy regular voters.

2) However core Tory votes who've not voted in the last three elections came out because they think they had a chance to win.

3) Plus core Labour voters, many of whom were disenfranchised came out to vote driven by the twin whips of 'Fear of Tory' and 'Fear of third place' rather than due to actual support of the current government. In that regard the Labour campaign of don't ignore you're fear of change, give in to fear for fear leads to anger and anger leads to hatred of the Conversatives worked well.

Damn all those people with immutable party voting preferences. Damn the politicians for using fear as they're main control rod for the country
