Busy Easter weekend
Apr. 5th, 2010 04:45 pmSo this weekend I've been busy, I think I could use another long weekend to rest and recover!
Still its be a nice mix of good company and chores. There was the aforementioned Bristol trips, and last night we had the lovely
lunarkittenlj and
ilpala around for my and Rachael's regular 1st of the month pancake Sunday. Pancake flipped mostly successfully, good fillings and interesting conversation; definitely a good evening.
Chores wise: I'd given the cooker hob a clean it needed (as it been a week since I cleaned it last); gave the inside of the oven it's regular monthly thorough clean; hoovered the downstairs of the house; washed the kitchen floor; and mostly worked my way through my back log of ironing from since before kitacon.
I've also managed to spend a few hours over the weekend working on getting the hall way decorated. So far all we've managed to do is Rachael tidied the hallway up and cleaned up any of the marks that have been made since we did the first coat months ago; while I've filled all the places that needed it doing, we've had more than a few cracks from the new plaster settling in places, and sanded all those patches down. I always underestimate how much time the preparation for paining takes. Hopefully with some effort in the evenings this week and some more time next weekend we'll have the hallway done and that will be the last of the inside painting done!*
*Well excluding going around and improving areas that need it, and cleaning and painting all the skirting boards and door frames room by room. Still we can have a little break on the house before starting that process - might get the gardens done next in fact.
