So very nearly at the holiday, even if the forecast does predict rain on the day we get there, well thunderstorms, which are much more pleasant than rain really.

Feeling better generally, think it was probably a bit of mild cold I'd caught off [livejournal.com profile] purplegirl23 that triggered the side affects of the drug.

I have to say I'm generally feeling so much better since I've been put on Omaprezole. On a good day with my acid stomachs - so assuming no stress, other illness, or some other cause - would mean I'd be ok unless I lay down too soon after eating, eaten too much, bounced around or ended upside down at all (for whatever reason).

An average day would mean I'd be suffering after about 40 minutes of having eaten anything, or if I lay down on my left side, or has much pressure applied to my stomach. Still it would be controllable with antacids.

On a bad day antacids wouldn't work much, or only for short periods, I'd be woken up in the middle of the night or not be able to sleep because of the pain, eating would tend to result in a lot of burping - and frequently acidic burps that would burn on the way out. I used to take the overcounter H+ suppressors that would help until they wore off at which the problem would immediately return. To make matters worse the acid would generally be a problem the whole way through the digestive system - not pleasant to experience I shouldn't need to assure you.

With the medicine I'm having none of that; no pain and no frequently ingesting quantities of alkali substances. I just hope things will have healed and settled down once the course of treatment is over. For now though it's just good.

Not much else to say really, other than went and had a house viewing today. A deceased estate in Combe Down in need of a fair chunk of work. Outside of my price range unless I get some help, and even then I'd have to have them accept a significantly lower offer, and commit myself to doing it up over at least a couple of years. If we could get them to accept the price we'd want to pay, and if the cost of buying wouldn't make saving up to renovate it impractical or unlikely, it could mean having a very nice house (eventually) that I wouldn't have any conceivable need to move away from.

Viewing a house tomorrow off Newbridge Road, about half way between the Rover garage and the park and ride I think. Actually somewhere I could afford, still will have to see what it looks like in person, has that used for student accommodation feel from the photos.

I suppose Combe Down would be the renovating with the aim of effectively having skipped one or two stages up the property ladder when all was done, and the Newbridge Road property fits the buy first time home, sell and try and buy somewhere better in a few years plan. Of course have to see what it's like yet, and there's not much that can be done till after the holiday anyway.
