So I've meant to write before but I've been a bit strapped for time or energy really. To the extend that I have a feeling I've forgotten at least one thing I meant to write about. Anyway I have the week off work which is good, but I've had and still have a fair amount of stuff to do.

The last weekend was the 36 hour that ended shire plot for the few of you out there outside the larp social group. It was very, very good. I can think of no fight that was unfair, no bad moment, and no empty periods ever with the party being so careful to make the right decision. I think the best I can say really is that 2 days later, the things that are still bothering me (aside from a slight disappointment that I didn't get to play around with blink + recall+ the dutch barn) were the various places I keep thinking I could have acted differently to save lives. My only complaint is that I could maybe have done better in hindsight, it really was a very very good 36 hour. I might more, possibly even a summary of IC events for my own benefit, but not when I need to be up before 6am the next day. Also I managed to borrow some armour off of [livejournal.com profile] fireydrake which will be very useful for playing Blaine this year**.

Yes after two days at home, one spent recovering from the 36 hour, I'm off to Alton Towers for two days tomorrow. Driving up myself, so spent a part of my day servicing my car (I really need to invent a tool for removing oil filters easily), and then cleaning it. Though due to my (usual) timing, the cleaning happened mostly after dark. Still all set to leave tomorrow. I am so looking forward to the massive adrenalin rush of Oblivion, and the special thrills of the Pirate Boat*.

Then from Friday afternoon of this coming weekend, I have the work company holiday conference in Torquay, in which I shall do something. Possible go fishing, possibly just sit on a beach and plot D&D, or sleep. Still someone else is paying for it so I have no complaints.

I also have a distinct feeling that the rest of the weekends of September if not busy now will be by the middle of next week, so I think I'll claim the middle of October to catch up on rest.

*I abuse my fear of heights being a bit of a closet adrenalin junkie (often satiated from certain games). The Pirate Boat swings just high enough to trigger my phobia causing the old fight or flight adrenalin response, and keeps me up there just long enough for it to not be too much. It does this repeatedly; it is amazing.

**And possibly the fancy dress of the IPL conference.
