Too hot

Today is too hot.

That, a late last night coming back from a cousins wedding and the fact I still have lots to do for my larp next week, means no running around in the too hot weather today.

Tonight is my granddad's 88th birthday celebration, so I won't be stopping by the pub either.

The wedding yesterday was nice, shame about the food though. The entire menu for the main meal, and the buffet later was vegetarian. Not a huge problem because you can make nice vegetarian food (hell, I have on occasion), though obviously it's not as filling as something with protein*. However the food was not good, I even didn't bother to eat the main course. Certainly it's the first (and hopefully last) al dente risotto, with absolutely no flavour, I've ever had. I'm also sure that Mediterranean vegetables include more than just peppers, aubergine and courgette. Let's just leave it by saying that the pepper and salt were VERY popular during that course, a lot of other people didn't finish, and a few were auctioning off the chips the young children didn't finish from their meal. Apparently the buffet was nice, I didn't find out because, it vanished very quickly as a horde of hungry guests descended on it, and got around the small plate limitation by making towers of food.

Still it was nice to see the newly married couple happy.

Oh and I learnt one important lesson, to keep an eye on how much alcohol my uncle is pouring me, I think I ended up having 2/3rds of a bottle of red wine, as well as the champagne and strong lager. Thankfully I'm good at stopping drinking when I've had enough (and starting again when I know it's safe to do so).
