Christmas Tree Is Up
Dec. 24th, 2006 06:03 pmSo I feel Christmassy. As always it doesn't feel Christmassy till the tree is up, regardless what the rest of the world might be doing. Also as always it up late Christmas eve too. Okay, that's not technically true sometimes we get the tree up on the 23rd. We also have a real tree due to a supermarket giving them away free. We haven't had a real tree for as long as I can remember. Of course the real tree is about half the size of the normal fake tree, but with the same quantity of decorations on. So it looks a little crowded in some ways.
Traditions have been kept, presents have been placed under the tree in true Christmas ninja fashion, so that no one noticed their placing. No doubt I shall return to the tree and witness the work of those other Christmas ninjas that we employ at this time of year.
Sadly the other tradition of 'Hunt the Alien' may have to be skipped this year. The alien, roughly 4-5 cm in height, typical 'Gray' style, and about the same colour as our normal fake Christmas tree is missing presumed not with the other decorations. Traditionally one of the people decorating the tree hides the alien amongst it and the rest of us spend far far too long trying to find the thing afterwards. Hopefully we'll find it so we'll be able to find it.
