I got to help [livejournal.com profile] drabbit run a larp today, he needed the assistance because the party were being split into two and set on two simultaneous larps on different routes to the same goal. It went well and I funny moments (just about everything to do with the hag), and some of the very 'interesting' decisions the players made. My favourite of the day was probably the hag using suggestion on the paladin in the justice shrine that it was perfectly ok for the party to wash the swamp goop off in the holy water. Oh yes and based on some things I've noticed, perhaps my nickname should be 'The Running Gm' considering how much time I spent running between players, monsters and other monsters today.

It has been interesting running the larps with both [livejournal.com profile] drabbit and [livejournal.com profile] fourmyle these last couple of times. I think looking back to the high level game I ran my main problem was I was out of practice, but I've learned, or perhaps relearned, that I can get away with a lot less detail in the write up if the principle is simple, and complexity works as long as things are well thought through. Which is again something worth maintaining through practice.

With my extended larp campaign, I'm slowly planning out the 36 hour it will end on for whenever I can get a slot, and putting together and detailing the important plot points that will take it there. Not knowing how many games I will have, and how much time there will be until I can run a 36 hour means striking the balance between not making it so complex that I can't do everything in time, and not having enough that it becomes too drawn out over time. Still at least I can share my ideas with Perdita, it's maddening not being able to tell anyone your plans sometimes.

Now to sleep the sleep of physical tiredness, and send [livejournal.com profile] drabbit emails tomorrow with ideas for points and possible suggestions for his game next week based on the events of today.
