The 36 hour was great fun, absolutely brilliant and it's always nice to know that the players I encountered while monstering enjoyed the fights we did, as much as I had. I certainly felt a certain sinking sensation when I came up against certain players in the fights, and I can't help wondering if they felt the same way when they saw me. The quality of fighting was very good, there were complaints but mostly from the people you'd expect. I did take a nasty face hit, which has left my glasses in need of some proper attention, and a bruise under the bridge which makes them a bit uncomfortable at the moment, but it was a complete accident so I don't mind at all. Anyway bruises heal, and frames can always be repaired, so it won't be a long term problem. I only wish I was louder and able to get the call of 'glasses' off in a way someone could hear me. In hind sight I should have worn my old glasses, but it's not a tempting prospect considering they don't fit very well any more (from all the larp blows I've received) and are slightly the wrong prescription.

I won't say what happened in the larp itself because my friends have all done so in much better detail, though it's interesting a certain thing has gone unmentioned :-). I only wish I could have done more interesting restore dead rituals to watch, again I suspect volume is the issue, but hopefully Rob enjoyed Jarak being mocked by 1663 Marshal Kronenburgs for a certain nickname, and Chris seemed to be suitably amused by Azrael being 'initiated' after his first visit to the great pub in the sky where dead life aligned guards go.

I ache, I'm sore, and I've rediscover muscles thought long gone from months of desk work in the last year. I'm also glad I was able to keep running and fighting for a lot longer than I though I was considering my lack of regular exercise.

The drive back wasn't too bad, I think it took about 1.5 to 1.75 hours in the end. Clearly not stopping at KFC on the way back meant I missed the horrible fuel protester related traffic jam (well stop) that all my friends seemed to hit. Edit: Turns out I missed it on the way up not the way back, because I had to leave Bath late (7:45) due to works quarterly comms meeting

The next best thing about waking up after a great 36 hour, the feeling of having great fun with good friends coming first, is that there are 30 odd people at least as tired as you are. I can't wait to start next year's character, or for the related 36 hour, but most of all as was reminded of again this weekend, I'm looking forward to spending more time having fun with a lot of good people and great friends.
