Being a wanted man: an update
Mar. 29th, 2005 08:25 pmAfter being asked about it by one of my friends yesterday, I asked my parents if the student survey people had called me again. They told me they'd called about another 9 times, which brings the total to:
1 letter, 1 postcard and 12 phone calls.
My parents suggested I should just get it done because it's not worth making yourself noticed with as they put it, and so I went to the website after getting distracted by information about it's pilot last year (I was mostly curious about the response rate - about 37%*). I went to the website only to stop them bothering my parents with their phone calls, I really didn't expect them to try so hard.
Anyway I went there, filled in the initial information sheet (name, uni, student number) and clicked the opt out button. The thing is I entered 'I have no idea' for my student number, because I couldn't be bothered to find it, and it seemed to accept it. Hopefully that'll be the end of it.
Has anyone else had this form? Have you returned it? Did you answer the questions? How many times have they tried contacting you?
*According to the reports, that wasn't a big enough turn out for the proper one, and I'm wondering if they tried so hard because they haven't achieved the required response rate (or even gotten close to it).
