Hodgepodge of Stuff
Apr. 26th, 2004 04:20 pmMy younger brother is now 19, what's weird is that makes me feel older than knowing I'll be 21 in less than three weeks time.
I caught a program on Channel 5 on Sunday called Zero to Hero. The premise is approximately two comic book fans plus two of their mates must complete a 'super hero' challenge, to do this they must build a device to give them their 'super power'. The device designing side of things works like scrap heap challenge, the teams of three get an engineer to help them and must make a device out of ordinary objects (hair dryers, piping, etc, etc.).
There is also a comic book artist and a woman who they described as the 'queen of lycra' on standby to design and then make their super hero costumes respectively. So far, so corny. What amused me is the too comic book fans (and here was me expecting a typical geek/larper/computer programmer style of person) were a 6ft something built like a house bouncer and a slightly smaller craftsman. Who would have guessed (though I suspect anyone else but me).
FFX-2 has also described something as borked. I'm beginning to wonder if someone is going to describe a monster as gribbly or some strange occurrence as being wibbly. However all said and done I still can't stand being told I've 'scored [something]' every time I open a chest.
P's laptop is being problematic, turns out its a design flaw that causes the heat sink to get clogged with dust and stop working. Luckily BathGeeks was able to help, then again I knew either Martin or Shevek would be able to suggest something useful. However the suggestions were only temporary fixes, and Perdita will have this problem from here on until she replaces the laptop.
Oh yeah I saw
elmyra's new hairstyle. It really suits her.
