Very late update on the weekend
Dec. 10th, 2003 02:58 pmAs I have a little time I'm going to do a theoretically quick update.
The weekend overall was good. The drive up to and back from Nottingham wasn't bad or particularly heavy going, though I'm annoyed that my right rear suspension is going. It now rattles most of the time and cause the back of the car to wobble at low speeds.
Dave and Sara vocalised no obvious complaints about the drive up and on the way back I found that someone who can sing can make a suitable substitute for a radio. All in all petrol cost about £21 pounds for the whole journey which isn't bad going I think.
So yes Friday evening was the main party and considering how John was the only person I knew well there who I hadn't driven up, I did lots of socialising. Thankfully the bulk of his guests were magic/role players some of which I'd met before so it wasn't too bad. Dave and Sara decided to occupy John's room and carefully drove off unwanted partiers by use of certain bits of John's music collection.
It wasn't a bad party it went on longer than I had the energy for (well I had just driven to nottingham having been at work all week and woken up at about 6:15am) and I remembered why I lost interest in the silly quantities of alcohol thing. In the end I had some of the giant cocktail that was made and found out that Smirnoff Black Ice tastes of new car.
Saturday and Sunday were a lot better, waking up at 12ish made up for going to bed at 4am on Friday and I have decided that lie-lows are a very 'interesting' thing to lie on. We did the whole walking and talking thing and while Sara got to know some trees and explained the principle to Dave I gave John's life some more of a poke.
We also introduced Sara to Invader Zim on Saturday. She liked it. Well we all bought her a GIR top for christmas that she wanted on Sunday, so she clearly liked it.
As a group of friends we actually spotted a valuable thing, well I mentioned it so I can assume we all spotted it. When we were at college we saw each other all the time 5 days a week, and we went out to do special things like go see films. When we left college we kept going out to do special things that of course caused lots of organising stress and difficulties with timing and peoples tastes etc, but of course we were no longer just 'hanging out' most days of the week.
So in future we intend to meet up to just hang out and occasionally go see films rather than meeting up to see films. This should be better as we clearly enjoyed just spending time with each other chatting on Saturday and should also mean we get to be more relaxed when we see we each other.
Yes so all in all a good weekend.
Monday I took as holiday which was good as I ended up waking up at 2pm and I was able to get almost the last of my christmas shopping done.
Got to see P in the evening and she helped me wrap presents which was good as I swear I become more dexterous and less clumsy when shes about.
(Warning: sickeningly romantic comments alert)
Things are still going very, very, very well with P, and every day I appreciate how lucky I am. The more time I spend with her the more perfect I realise she is for me, but hey being in love is just great.
I'm going to miss her over christmas as she'll be in Switzerland and I'm without a passport. I may have mentioned this before, but meh who cares my LJ and my right to randomly repeat myself.
Least I have a whole weekend with her this weekend to look forward to, just hope my car stays alright for the drive to Oxford.
