This is the update I didn't get finished off yesterday but I'll try again and date as yesterday and see what happened.

Yes this weekend well I had flu. Thursday evening as time commanders night was when it got bad. I realise now it had been bothering me all week but I had just attributed the painful shoulders and acidic stomach to tiredness, oh well. Anyway on Thursday evening I left Kipperfish's shivering badly in the ill way which makes you look like your enjoying your own personal earthquake. I crawled into bed clutching a hot water bottle.

Friday morning it felt worse so took the day (well half day really) off work and I went back to sleep till 12:30. In addition to random hot and cold flushes, the headache which had really started bothering me on Thursday and I couldn't shift, I was also feeling dizzy and the tingling in my little fingers from when I trapped a nerve in my spine had come back (which confirms there was a viral component at the time). The headache I was able to clear using a combination of an aspirin and a paracetamol (they work better in tandem dealing with the pain in separate ways as well easing a few other symptoms each). This made me feel better as the act of movement was no longer painful.

Taking the opportunity I headed off into town and got the bulk of my Christmas shopping done (between work and the current commitments on the next few weekends I have little to no other time to do it). Bought presents felt proud of my ability to make decisions and bought two games for myself. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (which is absolutely amazing, well worth owning will do a mini review thing here when I've finished it) and Metroid Prime as I had wanted it and its now £20 which is also good.

So yes now feeling all better that I managed to get that done, and believing I must have the flu beat I got home armed with something to do while ill and then got progressively worse just in time to have my parents point out that flu comes at you in waves and only makes you think your better before it hits again. Spent an instructive day wrapped up running along walls dodging traps and messing with time (playing Prince of Persia).

P came down in the evening nicely chauffeured by my parents as I wasn't in a state to drive and stayed over. Its definitely a new and nice experience waking up with your girlfriend checking how you feeling. This repeats for both Saturday and Sunday. I feel a lot better by Sunday but I'm left feeling continuously dizzy and need to perpetually support myself on something or collapse in a chair.

Monday morning I still felt dizzy so took another day off work and continued my weekend long trend of not getting up till about 11:30. Thankfully by today I'm back at work and feeling a lot better. The my general all over ache is still slightly there and my fingers still tingle but all in all I'm a lot better.

So that was my weekend made a lot better by the fact that P was there for most of it and I'm glad I beat this flu quickly.
