Ok a lot to write about as I had an eventful weekend.

My sister, her boyfriend, and my brother were all down this weekend. It felt really good to have the whole family back together, even if it was only for a couple of days. P got to meet everyone as well, which is good though probably a little unnerving for her though thankfully shes been round a few times so only my sister and her boyfriend were new faces.

My sister, Julia, has a new haircut which looks good and was free. She went to someplace whos name I have totally forgotten but I think is something like the London Hairdressing College (somebody reading this must surely know what I'm badly referring to). Anyway she came out with wavy hair and a mixture of three redish to purply colours. All in all about £100 of stuff for free, and she liked it so no complaints there.

Edd, my brother, still has the flu and he has an exam soon too. Here hoping all goes well for him. He still hasn't bought me back any little robots yet though (Ed's on Reading's Cybernetics and Applied Computer Science course).

Andy, my sisters boyfriend, is enjoying his new job which is good. Apparently his new company thinks he's great as they're actually meeting deadlines and things, which is a pretty rare occurrence for a computer game company.

I got to see the extended version of the Two Towers and Pirates of the Carribbean this weekend as well. The Two Towers is good if long (about 4 hours all told), I'm much happier now with the film now I've seen the proper version (mostly because a lot of the additional scenes develop Faramir's character so he doesn't appear like a total idiot). If you think about those films carefully its clear most of the changes to the original story are made for the sake of good cinematography. The classic example is the fact they don't reforge the sword till film three when it occurred in book one. I makes sense when you consider most of the public aren't going to remember that particular fact two years on considering it has little bearing till the third film anyway.

Pirates of the Carribbean is good, very good. Even if Bufs messed up the screening. I have to say the more I see Johnny Depp do the better the actor I think he is, and he acts unlike a lot of people who just play themselves (classic example being Sean Connery, and whats-his-face Mathematician Jurrassic Park, you know, him). He does pretty much steal every seen he's in. Considering it came from the director of Pearl Harbour and Armageddon, it turned out very well. Enough humour, good effects though it does make the skellies from Jason and The Argonauts look very good considering they were done nearly 40 year earlier.

I'm sure there was more but I'll post later when I remember.
