Happy Birthday Mum
Nov. 13th, 2003 03:11 pmYes it is my Mum's something-somthingth birthday today. Not she reads this LJ or knows about its existence but it really should be included.
Lots of things to write about and I think I've finally worked out what I want to say. I recently become aware that I'm screening what I choose to write about here for suitability which might explain why and I updated as much in the last week.
Only my friends and anyone who gets directed here will read this so I doubt theres any significant harm in putting a greater level of me-ness into it.
I'll refrain from the post all about P, which I'm sorely tempted to write. I know how I feel about her, and I know how she feels about me and to be honest thats all that matters. Suffice it to say I'm still bouncing off the walls, and taking every available opportunity to spend time with her. Its good and if you really want more information, well catch me in person; just be prepared to be bounced at lots ;-)
So yes stuff. Went to a Neil Gaiman signing on Tuesday and got to see Sara. Sara is well and things seem good between her and Amy, which is cool (though I did feel I was in the presence of several long running arguments). Next time I really should give a little more advance notice and stay for longer.
The signing itself was good, I've never been to a Neil Gaiman signing before and recommend anyone who can get to one to go. I'm sure theres enough people willing to 'introduce' (read: obsess about) his work to give you some idea. I got some things signed, though I leave details vague for christmassy present relatedness. Having him read 'The Wolves in the Walls' to us was also great. He as witty as you'd expect and its nice being told by an author all of his future book plans. There was other info as well, though I am annoyed now I know there was almost a Good Omens movie. Grumble.
Also I got to see the Beard of Doom. I feel vaguely privileged. Elmyra gives the details so go read her LJ entry if you want some more information. Also I mustn't forget to find out if Claire took any photos which I can proceed to collect at some point.
Last night watched 'The Cat Returns' at scifi. I think 'Spirited Away' was better though this was funnier. Also yay for lots and lots and lots of cats.
*bounce* I must have cats when I'm older, and have a finished degree and a place and things *bounces*
Yay, Cats!!!!!
Other things I should do. Give my sister a call and be around any not half asleep when my brother phones. I should also give John a call, see if I can't cheer him up. I feel really guilty for not phoning him sooner, but I can't do it tonight. I will call him tomorrow though assuming he's there. Hmm, big phone bill beckons.
Right thats enough for now. I definitely forgotten something I wanted to include but I'm sure it'll come back to me one day.
