Fireworks and cats, yay!
Nov. 3rd, 2003 08:55 amI've had a busy weekend this week, which partly explains the lack of an update, but theres also the on going distracton factor to take into account. :-)
Anyway went and saw my friend Dave on Friday. He's the same as ever, which is cool, I wouldn't want to know what he could turn into. While I was there I managed to finally watch The Matrix: Reloaded on DVD (yes, I hadn't seen it before) wasn't as bad as everyone made out, though there were a couple of bad bits where they didn't bother to render the CGI. All in all I kind of liked it, certainly interesting plot deveopment anyway though not as good as the first one (which I also first saw on DVD). Just a shame that after they spent all that money on it they didn't bother to tidy and properly finish the cgi.
I finally collected my Invader Zim T-shirt that Dave had ordered off E-bay. Looks good GIR and Zim in the boot cruiser surrounded by lots of 'DOOM' in many colours. Must not forget to get the remix of the doom song and subject it to people.
Anyway its always good visiting Dave, especially as he lives in a house of full of cats. Four when I got there five when I left. Yeah, his family just got a 6 month old ginger tom, who admittingly spent the entire time hiding in a corner but I'm sure he'll have found his feet by the time I next visit Dave. There currently looking for a name for the cat any suggestions would be welcome (hmmm, maybe Marmalade).
It was good to see that Moppet was still alive, though I know shes not likely to be around that much longer, being 18 and having survived being runover twice. It will be a shame when she goes as she such a friendly cat. Theres nothing quite like being woken up by moppet walking across you and licking your face. Then again all of Dave's cats are people cats not cat cat's, so they are really friendly to eveyone but each other.
Its always funny watch Dave feed them. Four cats, three of which I almost only see lieing down asleep somewhere (moppet however will happy follow you around), none of them particularly energetic all suddenly moving and running (and that includes the really fat one Cleo) in some kind of cat mini-ballet.
Yay cats. Must get some when I'm older.
So went and saw the Uni Fireworks on Saturday with P. It was a good show better than last year. I can't believe that we managed to stand directly infront of where they were being launched and had no one blocking our view so were able to see the roman candles and things. I've never had a spot that good in the last 10 years.
Also I finally managed to meet Almost Honests' fresher. She seems nice enough but I didn't really talk to her so I can't say anything, of course AH has told me quite a bit about her and I trust his judgement.
I should apologise to all that were there for any coupleness and the excessive bounciness, I appreciate its not always the nicest thing to be around. I was told by IndigoGecko that I had the biggest grin she had seen on me, and that apparently I've been making Johnny look static recently. I probably can't argue. I do feel bouncier than a kangaroo riding a pogo-stick on a bouncy castle.

I think the fact that I'm going out with P is pretty much sunk in now. Its all been like a good dream I've been afraid I'm about to wake up from. Took a few photos of her and some of us together and when I get them back it'll be good. I'm looking forward to having a photo of her (and it'll be good to give her a photo of me which isn't that awful passport one).
She met my parent's on Sunday and I was so impressed. She was amazingly unshy for her, maybe I'm a good influence :-) They like her which is good and she likes them which is better. Of course I knew they would. Everyone has to like P, there nothing about her anyone could find her fault with, though admittingly I'm biased ;-)
Apparently I'm good but very, very bad. Though I'm glad she liked the random gift of chocolate. I'm not to do it again apparently. Hmmm, yes, I'll think we'll have to see about that.
Well I sould get back to work now.
