Having the lounge done is nice

As is having people around, and having a proper place to sit. Need a little more in the way of furniture, but that should be either this week or next week depending on delivery times. So far the new sofa has entertained [livejournal.com profile] granny_gertrude one evening, and three Magic players another (when I had my common cube tested out).

I even fed people that evening too and seeing as they liked the recipe enough to want to know what I did, I thought I put it up here too.

White Tuna sauce for Pasta (or presumably whatever else you want)

This is my default I've forgotten to get anything out of the freezer, and can't be bothered to microwave defrost something. It also has the advantages of being quick. If I'm relatively organised, and Rachael is helping the sauce can be made in the 5-7 minutes it takes to cook the linguine we prefer to have it with.

Ingredients (makes enough for 2-3 depending on how much sauce you like):
1 Tin of Tuna
1 Small Onion
Some garlic (to personal taste)
A generous quantity of oil (preferably olive) to fry the above in.
Roughly 200ml of milk
1 heaped tea spoon of cornflour
1 vegetable stock cube (I use Oxo)
Pepper (to personal taste)
Handful of Parsley (to personal taste)
Handful of Taragon (to personal taste)

1)Chop up the onion and garlic fairly small and brown in the oil as you would with other sauces.
2)While there frying mix the oxo cube, cornflower and pepper into the milk.
3)Once the onions are brown add the tuna to the pan, break up into small bits with your implement of choice and fry for a couple of minutes till I browns a bit more.
4)Pour in the milk mixture, add the herbs and cook on high heat stirring regularly until it thickens up.
5)Dish up on to pasta cooked to personal taste, eat and enjoy.

Obviously embellish as you desire, I did it with salmon without the tarragon on Thursday for the magic player who didn't like Tuna. I'm not sure of the full details, but my Dad's one is far more complicated involving anchovies, prawns and other spices for example and probably less milk.
