New Computer

My new computer arrived yesterday, and I am both impressed and happy with my purchase. The system is fast, very quiet* and produced impressive things when I ran 3D mark (the trial version has been installed). The inside looked shiney and tidy. The outside glows blue in places :). Generally very pleased with the service from ChillBlast.

Having got it I proceeded to successfully install my DVD-RW drive and my old hard drive into the system. Not breaking very expensive new computer on first day was a good thing. Must admit I was somewhat nervous about doing it, seeing as the last time I opened a computer up to it stopped working. Had to pull out the Ram, and switch around some leads to get things in and connected, but it all worked, and I even managed to keep it relatively tidy. I actually think practice with logic puzzles helped me work out how to connect up the S-ATA ports.

All that's left now is the slow process of moving data between hard drives, reinstalling various software, removing any files or data I no longer want. Once that's done and backed up. I'll format the old disc, place my page file and system restores on to it, then partition most of it into a 64-bit linux install. Which I may actually use this time (seeing as I'm still using 32-bit XP on the main system).

*I couldn't hear it over the sound of my Dad's computer running at all, which is the roughly the same as my old computer.
