The Spirit is a comedy

I can't decide which way I'd prefer to describe it either that it's 'Frank Millar makes Looney Tunes' or or possibly 'Sin City as made by Hanna-Barbera' or that 'It's a comedy where the gritty Frank Millar style plays straightman to the comedic pair of the dialogue and the action'.

I imagine a lot of my friends will not like it. However once it had settle into my mind it was a comedy it had me laughing for most of the last half of the film. The film definitely tries to tell you it's a comedy too, Samuel L Jackson saying 'Come on, toilets are always funny!' is probably one of the more blatant examples. It's also endlessly quotable and snarkable. I might have a go soon, but I'm not sure I'd do it justice.

A few moments worth mentioning that I'll stick behind a spoiler.

'This room smells dental... [camera pans to giant Swastika] and nazi." <- That one had me laughing

Samuel L. Jackson in a nazi uniform (and most of his lines in fact). <-Then that one kept me laughing.

The death of Muffin leaving nothing but eyes.
