Spending Spree

Well as close as I get, which isn't very really.

I have ordered my unnecessarily spec'ed PC* as of this evening, and can't wait for it to arrive. As much as I can easily afford the PC I still prefer to treat my money as house deposit so I mentally treat it as coming from the extra I get for commuting to Newport**; only 35 more working days to pay for it by just commuting. Management buy out went through at work, and just now curious to see what does or doesn't change; well other than all the new car, etc purchase by IPLer's making the most of their share monies.

In an other spending of money had my private dentist appointment today. I definitely easily get more than the 2.5 times better service I paid for over the NHS. The good news thanks to a very thorough check of my mouth is my apparent required filling is not so required. It's either a stain or an old arrested point of decay. They'll check again in a year, and if it has no change, my teeth are such I shouldn't need check ups more than every year or two. Definitely so very very paying for.

*Overclocked Intel Q6600 Quad Core 3Ghz processor, 4Gb RAM, 1TB Hard disc space over 2 discs, Nvidia 8800 GTX 768Mb graphic card, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card, appropriately swanky case (NZXT Hush Silver Case), and the other usual bits in the box. Why? Because I can.

**Well that and it makes the commute much less negative if it pays for fun things.

Sounds like some awesome stuff coming your way? And good teeth to boot. Can't complain about that. ;)

ooo what a beast! Are you buying pre-built or components? I'm talking myself into upgrading and am open to recommendations for suppliers (and parts)

There never needs to be an excuse for owning retarded amounts of computing power. It just is. Having an installer program divide by zero when trying to derive your system's speed is one of the pinacles of mankind's achievements.
