Good times (alternately: The Cake is a Metaphor)
So yes another evening spent Magic, and another Victory for Dom! Such things are good, though I did benefit in the last round from the two other people with three wins deciding 25-30 minutes in to their first game, that the match they were playing (effectively with mirrored drafted decks) was going to be mind numbingly dull. Still I won my matches and I'll happily accept the resultant prizes!
Larping Sunday was good, though I was kindly not killed in the first fight, when it was clear I was woefully out of practise at the whole thing. I'm glad to have taken the break and recharged my interest so to speak, so look forward to doing it more this coming year (though not this Sunday).
And there's the other big news, which cryptic posts aside, I had been delaying posting about because there had been some stuff to resolve. All of which was in my head, in all fairness. Still after several weeks of chatting for hours and hours online, and several pleasant evenings, and one Saturday spent in each others company, myself and the lovely Rachael (
purplegirl23) are a couple *insert much bouncing here*.
The delaying really was waiting for things to definitely be there. Things which hadn't been entirely (though were mostly) there and resulted from a combination of catching up in person to where I had been purely in text from the hours and days of chatting over Christmas (which finally happened Monday), the discovery and the healing of a deep wound which was very much tied to the depth, strength, and intended longevity of the promises and commitments I'd made in the past to a person who I had recognised no longer really exists, and lastly just it all clicking together in my head which it did tonight. I've had my brain thinking about things continuously since last Thursday evening, which couples with the general headaches that have come with the (still not gone) sore throat has been particularly unrestful, even the sensation that I've not switched off even in sleep. It took just the complete focussing on the games of Magic I was playing to give my brain the rest from that thought process, and the realisation that I was meeting a couple of new people as Rachael's boyfriend to really make it all click.
So yes very happy and excited (finally). As is she, which she should be considering who I am and I what I'm like :P
